The Nirvana Restaurant is on the Albert Road in Southsea in the English county of Hampshire.
Located close to the famous Kings Theatre our entire food philosophy, our work culture and our cooking style
reflects the bohemian vibes and gregarious ambience of the Albert Road area of Portsmouth.

The Nirvana Restaurant is owned and managed by a local British Hindu family with roots in Tripura,
one of the Seven Sisters States in north-east India. The first member of our family settled in Portsmouth
on 12th July 1963.
The atmosphere inside is relaxed and informal. We have no pretensions. We are a close-knit family of
magpie personalities. We love what we cook and want to share with you our passion for our food.
We don’t just cook food. We also write extensively about the three subjects which monopolises our daily
working lives: Indian food culture, new world wines, and excellent beers.
We think the Nirvana Restaurant on Albert Road is a unique and special place.
